A deviation can also be a blocking of your calendar (using ‘Unavailable for meetings’), as an alternative to using the standard Microsoft tracking of appointment.
Using deviation for blocking your calendar
(Can be used as an alternative to using the standard Microsoft tracking of appointment)
Start by clicking on Resource in the menu
Select the resource in question
In the menu on the right-hand side (called Meeting type availability deviations), click the +Meeting type availability deviation button
If the button is not visible, click the three vertical dots ⋮ to find the button.
A new fly-out menu appears
In the new menu fill out;
Name: Name of the blocked time/date
Resource: Leave this field untouched
From: Time and date of which the blocking takes place from
Make sure the timeslot and date is not in the past
To: Time and date of which the blocking takes place to
Make sure the timeslot and date is not in the past
Meeting Type: Select only ‘Unavailable for meetings’
Store: Fill out your store.
Note: If you work in multiple stores this will block you in all stores.
Finish by clicking on Save and Close in the bottom
The website will now “listen” to this blocking, meaning the resource will not be available in the given timeframe in all stores.
Blocked days in the Schedule Board
If you have created a deviation with ‘Unavailable for meetings’ (meaning a blocking) in the deviation section, then this will be reflected in the Schedule Board as well.
